How I work

Calm, open-minded and curious.

I'm interested in a lot of things, and solving problems comes naturally to me. I use a mix of pragmatism and experimentation: try something, learn from it, improve.

The people I work with, on projects and off them, are what keeps me getting better every day. What I bring is the overview and the details together: seeing how the business fits together, then making it work in code.

  1. Listen first

    Every good design starts with understanding what you really need, not with a technology.

  2. Keep it simple

    Pick the simplest thing that works, and write down why so the reasoning lasts.

  3. Stay hands-on

    I don't hand over diagrams and disappear. I help build it, too.
